Questions and answers about QR menu export and sharing
Everything about QR menu export and sharing with Menivo — from downloading the QR code and distributing the public link, to file formats, display in the restaurant, and real-time updates of the digital menu.
What does QR menu export and sharing mean in Menivo?
QR menu export and sharing is the process through which you, as a restaurant owner, make your digital menu accessible to customers — either by downloading and printing the QR code, or by distributing a direct public link. In Menivo, after you have created the restaurant and added the products to the menu, you enter the QR Code section of the admin panel, from where you can download the QR code as an image or print-ready PDF, and also copy the public menu link to share it on social media, Google Maps, or your own website.

In what formats can I download my menu's QR code?
From the QR Code section of the Menivo platform, the QR code generated for your restaurant can be downloaded directly, ready to use. The available format is optimized for high-quality printing, so it can be applied to table stands, posters, stickers, or physical menus without loss of clarity. Regardless of the size at which you print it, the QR code remains scannable with any modern smartphone, without any additional app.

How do I share the QR menu on social media or Google Maps?
Exporting and sharing the QR menu is not limited to physical printing only. Menivo provides you with a unique public link for your restaurant (based on the custom slug), which you can:
- Add to the description of the restaurant's Facebook or Instagram page;
- Include in the Google My Business / Google Maps profile in the "Menu" section;
- Share via WhatsApp or email with loyal customers;
- Embed as a hyperlink on the restaurant's own website;
- Mention in paid marketing campaigns or in the TikTok bio.
Any subsequent change to the menu (prices, new products, availability) is instantly reflected at the same link, without having to redistribute a new URL.
If I modify the menu, do I need to generate a new QR code?
No. This is one of the biggest advantages of a digital menu over a printed one. The QR code generated by Menivo permanently points to your restaurant's public link. Any product addition, price change, ingredient update, or schedule change becomes instantly visible to customers, without regenerating or reprinting the QR code.

Can I export the menu as an Excel or XML file for backup or later import?
Yes. Menivo provides advanced data import and export features:
- Excel Export — you can download the restaurant and menu data (categories, products, prices, descriptions) into an .xlsx file, useful for backup or data migration;
- Excel Import — you can take an Excel template provided by Menivo, fill in the data offline, and import everything in a single action, including restaurants, menus, and products distributed across 3 spreadsheets;
- XML Import — the platform also accepts import from a structured Excel file with multiple worksheets, useful for restaurants with large product portfolios.
This feature is ideal if you operate multiple locations or if you want to update the menu seasonally in bulk. Download the import template from the dedicated section in the admin panel.
How do I export and share the QR menu if I have multiple restaurants?
If you have multiple locations in your Menivo account, each restaurant receives its own unique QR code, generated independently. The process of exporting and sharing the QR menu is identical for each location: you enter the desired restaurant's panel, access the QR Code section, and download or share the code specific to that location.
The number of restaurants you can manage simultaneously depends on your active subscription plan. Each location has its own slug, its own public link, and its own QR code, completely independent from the others.
Does the menu shared via QR also include information about allergens and nutritional values?
Yes, absolutely. When a customer scans the QR code and accesses the public menu, they see for each product all the information you have filled in, including food allergens and nutritional values. Menivo complies with the legal obligations regarding the display of allergens in restaurants, and their display in the digital menu is automatic once you have associated them with the products.

Is the menu distributed via QR also available in English?
Yes. Menivo supports full bilingualism (Romanian and English) across all elements: restaurant name, description, schedule, menu categories, products, ingredients, and descriptions. When creating or editing each element, you fill in the fields both in Romanian (RO) and optionally in English (EN).
Customers who access the menu by scanning the QR code can easily switch between the two languages directly from the public interface of the digital menu, which makes the experience much friendlier for tourists or international customers.
Can I customize the public link (URL) of my menu?
Yes. When editing the restaurant in the Menivo panel, you can set a custom slug both in Romanian and in English. The slug forms the public URL of your menu (for example: menivo.io/your-restaurant). This allows you to have a link that is easy to remember and share, relevant to your restaurant's brand.
The slug must be unique on the platform, and changing it later will also automatically update the link that the downloaded QR code points to, so make sure you choose a stable slug before distributing the QR code on a large scale.
What happens to the QR menu if my subscription expires?
Menivo operates on a subscription basis, and the limits of each plan (number of restaurants, categories, products, QR scans) are defined according to the chosen level. In case of subscription expiration or downgrade to a lower plan, access to some advanced features may be restricted. We recommend checking the details of your active plan in the Subscription section of your account and renewing or upgrading before expiration to avoid interruptions in the display of the public menu.

Does exporting and sharing the QR menu also work on mobile?
Yes. Both the Menivo admin panel and the public menu viewed by customers are fully responsive and optimized for mobile devices. The restaurant owner can manage the menu, download the QR code, or copy the public link directly from a smartphone, without needing a separate app. Customers, in turn, access the QR menu by scanning the code with the phone's camera and viewing the products in a modern, fast, and frictionless interface.
