1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser. They allow the site to "recognise" you on subsequent visits — for example to keep you signed in, remember your chosen language or your privacy settings.
Alongside cookies we also use similar technologies such as localStorage, where we keep,
for instance, your chosen theme (light or dark). This policy applies to those equally.
2. How we ask for your consent
On your first visit we display a consent banner with three clear options: accept all cookies, reject all non-essential ones, or customise by category. The reject button is as prominent as the accept button, and taking no action does not count as acceptance.
So that we can demonstrate we asked for your consent, we record: an anonymous visitor identifier, the IP address as an irreversible hash, the categories selected, the policy version, the language and the time of your choice. We do not store the IP address in plain text and cannot reconstruct your identity from that hash. These records are kept for 3 years.
3. The categories we use
Strictly necessary — always active
These make the site work: maintaining your session, protecting forms against CSRF attacks and remembering your privacy choices. They cannot be disabled, because without them the site does not function. The legal basis is legitimate interest, and the law does not require consent for them.
Analytics — only with your consent
These help us understand how the site is used: how many visitors we have, which pages are read, where users come from. The data is used in aggregate form to improve the product. Provider: Google Analytics 4.
Marketing — only with your consent
These allow us to measure advertising effectiveness and to show relevant ads on other platforms. Providers: Meta (Facebook) Pixel and conversion tags managed through Google Tag Manager.
Preferences — only with your consent
These remember settings that improve your experience but are not essential — for example display or language preferences retained between visits.

We scan the site periodically to detect new scripts that might set cookies. If the list above differs from what you observe in your browser, please let us know at office@menivo.io and we will correct it.
5. Google and Meta Consent Mode
We have implemented Google Consent Mode v2 and Meta's equivalent mechanism. In practice this means Google and Meta scripts load with consent defaulted to denied and write no cookies and transmit no identifiers until you give your agreement. If you decline, measurement stays disabled; Google may at most receive aggregated signals, with no cookies and no identifiers.
6. Changing your preferences
You can revisit your choice at any time using the button at the top of this page. The preferences panel lets you enable or disable the analytics, marketing and preferences categories separately.
Withdrawing consent takes effect for the future and does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out beforehand. Cookies already placed can be deleted from your browser settings, as described in the next section.
7. Browser controls
You can block or delete cookies directly in your browser. Note that blocking strictly necessary cookies will make it impossible to sign in to your account.
8. Cookies on restaurant menus
The public digital menus of restaurants, accessed by scanning a QR code, use only strictly necessary cookies to display the page correctly and, where applicable, to manage the order basket. QR scan statistics are aggregated and do not identify the visitor.
9. Changes
We update this policy whenever we add or remove tracking technologies. On a substantial change we increment the policy version, and the consent banner will be shown again so you can reconfirm your choice.
