How to manage customer reviews in Menivo
Follow the steps below to activate, customize and manage reviews directly from your Menivo admin panel.
Log in to your Menivo account
Go to menivo.io and sign in with your account details. If you don't have an account yet, registration is free and takes less than a minute. Once logged in, select the restaurant for which you want to activate customer reviews.
Navigate to the Reviews section
From the restaurant's admin panel, look for the Reviews option in the side menu. This gives you access to all received reviews, organized by status: pending, approved or rejected. You'll be able to see at a glance how many new reviews need moderation.
Generate a unique review link for customers
From the Reviews section, use the Generate review link button (the generateReviewLink function). You'll get a personalized link that you can share with customers via SMS, email, WhatsApp, or even printed on the receipt. The link directs the customer straight to your restaurant's review form, without requiring an account to be created.
Download and display the review QR code
In addition to the text link, Menivo lets you download a dedicated review QR code (the downloadQr function). Place this QR code on tables, on the exit door, or on receipts. Customers will scan it with their phone and be taken directly to the review form — simple, fast and frictionless.
Connect your Google Reviews page
Menivo lets you save your Google Reviews page URL (the saveGoogleReviewUrl function). This way, satisfied customers can also be redirected with a single click to your Google profile, boosting your restaurant's visibility in local searches. Enter the URL from Google Maps in the dedicated field in the Reviews section settings.
Moderate the reviews you receive
Every review submitted by a customer enters pending status. From the admin panel you can view the full details: customer name, email address (optional), rating given (1–5 stars), review title and text. You have three actions available: Approve (the review becomes visible on the menu), Reject (the review remains hidden), or Edit (you can fix writing mistakes, without changing the meaning).
Revoke the review link if needed
If you want to temporarily stop collecting reviews — for example during renovation periods or a concept change — you can use the Revoke link function (revokeReviewLink). The previous link becomes invalid instantly, and you can generate a new link anytime you're ready to resume collecting reviews.
What you need to know before activating reviews
A few requirements and best practices to get the best results with Menivo's review feature.
- You need an active account on menivo.io and at least one restaurant set up on the platform.
- Your digital menu must be published and accessible through the generated QR code — if you haven't set it up yet, check out our guide on how to create a digital menu for your restaurant in 10 minutes.
- Moderating reviews is mandatory before publishing — no review appears automatically without your approval.
- The required fields for a review are: customer name and rating (1–5 stars). The title and text are optional.
- The Google Reviews URL must be a valid, publicly accessible address — verify it from Google Maps before saving it in Menivo.
- Rejected reviews aren't permanently deleted — you can re-approve them anytime if you change your mind.
- The reviews feature perfectly complements the other Menivo features, such as online reservations and information about food allergens.
- Make sure your menu contains complete information — prices, descriptions, ingredients and allergens — to provide customers with a top experience before asking them for a review.
