How to activate reviews through ntfc – Step-by-step guide

Follow these simple steps to fully activate and configure the notification and review system in Menivo.

1

Log in to your Menivo account

Go to menivo.io and log in with your administrator account details. If you don't have an account yet, registration takes less than a minute. Once logged in, you'll see the list of your active restaurants in the left sidebar. If you haven't set up your restaurant yet, first check out our guide on how to configure restaurant settings and general information.

💡 Pro tip: Make sure the restaurant profile has its email address correctly filled in — this will be used to send notifications about new reviews.
2

Navigate to the restaurant's "Reviews" section

From the admin panel, select the restaurant for which you want to activate the notification system. In the restaurant's side menu, look for the Reviews option. This will take you to the interface managed by ReviewAdminController, where you can view, approve, or reject all reviews received from customers.

💡 Pro tip: If you manage multiple restaurants, you can access a global view of all reviews through a single centralized screen, extremely useful for chains or restaurant groups.
3

Generate the unique review link

On the Reviews page, click the "Generate review link" button. The Menivo system will automatically create a unique and secure URL dedicated to your restaurant. This link can be shared with customers via SMS, WhatsApp, email, or displayed as a QR code on the table. Each customer who accesses the link will be able to leave a review with a rating from 1 to 5 stars, a title, and a detailed message.

💡 Pro tip: Share the review link right after the order is completed or at the end of the meal, when the customer's experience is fresh. Conversions are significantly higher in the first 30 minutes after the visit.
4

Download the QR code for reviews

In addition to the text link, Menivo gives you the option to download a QR code dedicated to reviews, directly from the admin section. Click the "Download QR" button and you'll get a high-quality image file, ready for printing. Place this QR code on tables, on receipts, or on posters at the restaurant exit to maximize the number of reviews collected. If you're curious how QR codes work in general, read our article on what a QR code is and how it works.

💡 Pro tip: Print the review QR code in A6 or A5 format and place it in dedicated table stands — customers will scan it much more easily than if they had to search for the restaurant on Google.
5

Add your Google Review URL (optional but recommended)

Menivo allows you to directly integrate your restaurant's Google review URL. In the Reviews section, you'll find the "Save Google Review URL" field. Enter the Google review link (maximum 500 characters) and click save. From this moment on, customers who leave a positive review will be automatically encouraged to also publish it on Google, boosting your restaurant's visibility in local searches.

💡 Pro tip: You can find your Google review link in Google Business Profile → "Get more reviews" section. Copy it and paste it directly into the field in Menivo.
6

Activate and configure notifications through the NTFC system

This is the essential step to activate reviews through ntfc. The Menivo notification system works on two levels: in-app notifications (DB toast) — appearing directly in the admin panel as real-time visible alerts — and email notifications — automatically sent to the restaurant's registered address. Make sure the email address in the restaurant settings is valid and that you don't have active spam filters for the menivo.io domain. Notifications activate automatically once you generate the review link and remain permanently active.

💡 Pro tip: Periodically check your email's Spam folder in the first few days after activation, to make sure notifications aren't being incorrectly filtered by your email client.
7

Moderate received reviews – Approve or reject

Once customers start leaving reviews, you'll receive automatic notifications through the NTFC system. Accessing the Reviews → Index section, you'll see all received reviews with pending status. You can approve valuable reviews that will be displayed publicly in the menu, or reject irrelevant reviews. You can also edit fields such as the guest's name, title, content, or rating before publishing, to maintain a high quality standard.

💡 Pro tip: Respond to negative reviews constructively and professionally — potential customers read both the reviews and the owners' responses. Elegant handling of negative feedback increases the restaurant's credibility.
8

Revoke the review link if necessary

If you want to temporarily stop collecting reviews — for example during renovation periods or concept changes — you can use the "Revoke review link" button in the admin panel. The old link immediately becomes invalid, and upon a later activation a new unique URL will be automatically generated. This feature gives you complete control over the restaurant's feedback flow.

💡 Pro tip: Don't revoke the link if you simply want a short break — you can simply stop sharing the active link. Revocation is only useful when you want to invalidate all previously shared links.

What you need to activate reviews through ntfc

Check these requirements before setting up the review notification system.

  • An active account on menivo.io with at least one fully configured restaurant (name, address, business hours).
  • A valid email address associated with the owner account, to receive automatic notifications.
  • The restaurant must have a unique URL slug configured — this is part of the automatically generated public review link.
  • An active Menivo subscription — check that your current subscription includes review and notification features.
  • If you want integration with Google Reviews, you need an active and verified Google Business profile for your restaurant.
  • The downloaded review QR code must be printed at a resolution of at least 300 DPI for optimal scanning.
  • The restaurant's digital menu must be active and publicly accessible — check our guide on how to create a digital menu for your restaurant in 10 minutes if you haven't completed this step yet.
  • Recommended: the menu should contain complete product information, including food allergens and nutritional values, to provide customers with a complete experience before leaving a review.
