Creating menu products — step by step guide

Follow these steps to add and manage products in your Menivo digital menu. If you have not yet configured the restaurant, first consult the guide to creating your restaurant on Menivo.

Register and log in to Menivo

If you don't already have an account, go to menivo.io and create a free account. The process takes less than two minutes: you fill in your email address, password and basic business information. If you already have an account, log in to access the administration panel. You can follow the Menivo registration tutorial if you need additional help.

Select the restaurant and access the menu

From the main panel, select the restaurant for which you want to add products. If you have multiple locations, make sure you're working in the correct profile. Once you enter the restaurant profile, navigate to the Menu section from the administration side menu. You will see a list of existing categories or an empty screen if it's the first configuration.

Create or select a menu category

Products must belong to a category. If you haven't created categories yet, press the „Add category" button and fill in its name (eg: Appetizers, Pizza, Cocktails). Add a new product to the category

Enter the desired category and press the „Add product" button. The product creation form will open, where you fill in:

Name (RO / EN) — the product name in Romanian (mandatory) and optionally in English
Description — a brief presentation of the dish, main ingredients or preparation method
Price — the price in lei (mandatory numeric field)
Weight / Volume — the weight or volume of the portion (optional, but recommended)
Ingredients — list of ingredients, also useful for customers with specific dietary preferences
Product photo — an attractive image significantly increases the order rate

Add product allergens

In the product creation form, you will find the section dedicated to food allergens. Check all allergens present in the dish from the predefined list (gluten, dairy, eggs, fish, crustaceans, peanuts, soy, nuts, etc.). Complete nutritional values

Save the product and check the menu

After completing all fields, press the „Save" button. The product will appear immediately in the selected category. You can return anytime to edit, duplicate it (useful function for variations of the same dish) or delete it. Reordering products within the category is done simply through drag-and-drop. What you need to know before creating menu products

A few important requirements and recommendations for correct and complete configuration.

You need an active account on menivo.io and at least one restaurant configured on the platform.
Each product must belong to a menu category — create categories before adding products.
The Name (RO) field and the Price field are mandatory for each product; other fields are optional, but recommended.
Accepted image formats are JPG, PNG and WebP, with a maximum size of 10 MB per file — Menivo optimizes them automatically.
Allergens must be carefully selected for each product, in accordance with EU Regulation No. 1169/2011 on consumer information.
The maximum number of products per category may be limited depending on the subscription plan you choose — check the limits in the Subscription section.
You can add translations in English for all product fields by activating bilingual support for international customers.
Products can be marked as „frozen product" if applicable, in accordance with food labeling obligations.
