Step-by-step guide: reordering menu categories in Menivo
Follow the steps below to quickly reorganize your digital menu structure.
Log in to your Menivo account
Visit menivo.ro and authenticate with your email address and password. If you don't have an account yet, the registration process takes less than a minute. Check our detailed guide: How to create an account and register on the Menivo digital menu platform.
Select the desired restaurant
From the admin panel, access the list of restaurants and click on the restaurant whose menu you want to reorganize. If you have multiple locations, make sure you select the correct restaurant before proceeding. Navigate to the Menu → Categories section
From the admin panel sidebar menu, select the Menu section, then choose the specific menu you want to edit (for example: "Lunch Menu" or "À la carte Menu"). Use drag-and-drop to reorder categories
This is the main step in the process of reordering menu categories. Each category in the list has a "handle" icon (⠿ or ☰) on the left side that indicates the element can be moved. Press and hold this icon, then drag the category to the desired position. You can move any category: from the first position to the last, or anywhere between the others.
Save the new category order
After you have arranged all categories in the desired order, click the "Save order"
button (or the equivalent available in the interface). The Menivo platform automatically sends the new
configuration through the reorder function in the system, which updates the position of each
category. Changes are saved instantly and become visible in your restaurant's digital QR menu, without
needing to regenerate the QR code.
Verify and optimize your final menu
Once you have completed the reorganization of menu categories, go through the menu from a customer's perspective: is the order logical? Are categories easy to find? If you have products with allergens or nutritional values, make sure the information is up to date. What you need to know about reordering menu categories
A few important aspects before you start reorganizing your digital menu.
- The menu category reorder function is available to all Menivo users with an active account, regardless of the subscription plan chosen.
- Order changes do not affect the products in each category — only the position of the category in the menu changes.
- There is no need to regenerate the QR code after reordering — the code remains the same, and the menu updates automatically.
- You can reorder as many times as you wish, without restrictions — especially useful when changing the season or introducing special promotions.
- The drag-and-drop function is available on both desktop and mobile devices (phone, tablet).
- If you have multiple menus (e.g.: lunch menu + dinner menu), reordering applies independently for each menu.
- The order of categories directly affects the customer experience — categories with the best-selling dishes should appear first.
- In addition to reordering categories, you can also reorder products within each category using the same drag-and-drop system.
- If you use the menu in two languages (Romanian and English), reordering applies simultaneously for both language versions.
